Twenty
years ago, after decades of breaking conventions, advancing legislation,
setting new standards for American women, a group of Second Wave activists
founded the Veteran Feminists of America.
Since 1993, they have been preserving
the history they lived, sharing stories and celebrating
extraordinary advances for women and girls.
YOU are invited to meet, sit with,
and celebrate the Veteran Feminists of America. These are the pioneers of
the 60's who marched down Fifth Avenue, founded NOW & NWPC, revolutionized
family planning and rocked the halls of education. From the arts to music
to homes, homework and housework, nothing would ever be the same.
Spend Saturday, September 7, 2013 in Los Angeles at the Sheraton Universal Hotel, making history as we celebrate the VFA, honor the achievements of Second Wave feminists, bridge generations and focus on the future. It will be an unforgettable day celebrating the 20th Anniversary of this foremost resource about the Second Wave, honor the achievements of Second Wave feminists and join with these pioneers for a wonderful day of speakers, panels, exhibits and fun. Closing the day with the 20th Anniversary Gala Dinner, VFA medals and awards. Concert by The Millingtons.
Among our special guests with be NOW founder Muriel Fox, Kate Millett, Dolores Huerta, VFA Founder Jacqui Ceballos, USC Student Tucker Reed founder of SCAR, Helen Reddy, Claremont Graduate University Professor Linda Perkins.
