I am not voting for Joe Biden. I am voting for my party. I have always voted for my party. I rarely care for the presidential nominee, nor do I vote for them in the primary. I vote for my party. I hold my party responsible for advancing someone to that position. I see no point to debate publicly about the person but, rather, the party.
I am a Democrat. I have always been a Democrat. Growing up in a passionate Goldwater house, being 16 in 1964, supporting labor, anti-war, pacifist; I chose my party. I live in a two-party system. I am realistic about my vote and a dreamer about how things should be. No one has ever come close to that, though Stacey Abrams is closest so far.
The Republican party (party of Miss Paul), has been purchased, possibly blackmailed because of their lurid behavior or just unbridled greed. They lost their direction by not nominating a Republican. Their misogyny blinded them. They racism fueled them. They are now being led by a fascist. I have no idea how they or if they will get their party back but, in fact, I do not care. GOP is not my tribe, my club, my affair, my student, my teacher, or the holder of my dreams.
Now their opposing party, my party, is in a serious battle for saving the constitution, the party, the people; We the People. I am not happy with the nominee but I do not vote for a personality, a person, a biography; I vote for my party. I care vehemently about my party holding the Executive and Legislative branches.
My preference is to vote for women. Women have proven, that when women hold a preponderance of seats in any organization, the patriarchal agenda begins to lose its grip. Even GOP women change as they are at greater liberty when men do not hold the awards/rewards, the paycheck, the possibility of advancement.
Voting for women offers a much great chance of not voting for a sexual predator, be they calculated or just plain asleep. I am not going to hold a debate on Biden’s pro-women legislation vs. his total lack of boundaries. I do expect the leaders of my party, the Democratic party to get him in check, hold him in check and face their bad choice squarely.
Of course, men, white men, think that only a white man can beat a white man. However, they seem to have, 1) stepped away from naming the incumbent evil and insane 2) gotten fatigued managing backlash stemming from a Black man going in the front door of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
I am fatigued with my party talking about race and gender and then nominating a white man. I am not voting for Joe Biden. I am voting for my party. It is the party of the people. And, once again, voting since 1972, the nominee is not my choice. I will vote BLUE.
